William F. Hopper

William F. Hopper was a resident of Palo, Iowa at the beginning of the war. He enlisted and was mustered as a Private into Company G, 24th Iowa Volunteer Infantry on August 13, 1862. He was 34 years old at the time. He was mustered out of service in Savannah, Georgia on July 17, 1865. Following the war, he live in Benton County, Iowa. He belonged to the Grand Army of the Republic until his death in 1891.
