Advertising

The Banner has a paid circulation of approximately 7,000 active members of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. As a quarterly publication, a large portion of its Editorial content is designed to report the activities of the Order at the national, state, and local levels. Member-written feature articles are based on patriotic, historical and educational themes. Editorial matter also includes official communications, auxiliary news and prominent Civil War military ceremonies.

Advertisers and advertising agencies assume liability for all advertising content and assume responsibility for any claims arising therefrom made against the publisher. All advertising is subject to the publisher's approval. The publisher may reject any advertising that does not conform to publisher's standards. The word "Advertisement" will be placed within advertising copy which, in the publisher's opinion, resembles editorial matter.

Payment should be made to Color Ink, at the address indicated above. Contracts may be cancelled by a 60-day advance written notice and payment of account in full, including the difference between the contracted frequency rate and the short time rate on space actually used. Rates are subject to revision upon advance written notice. Contracted advertisers will be protected at their contracted rate for 60 days after the date of notification of rate change.

Camp & Department Advertising

Camp and Department ads appear in the Banner on a space-available basis. The volume of Camp and Department merchandise and ads may make it necessary for the Banner editor to regularly rotate ads to provide equal exposure. Therefore, it may be likely that each ad will appear in the Banner only once a year.

There is no cost to advertise Camp and Department merchandise in the Banner. However, all items which carry the emblems of the SUVCW must be licensed by the National Organization. Such merchandise not licensed by the National Order will not be advertised in the Banner. Submit your request for a license to the National Secretary. High resolution ads may be submitted electronically or in hard copy via U.S. mail to the Banner editor. No ad copy or illustrations will be returned.
