John Herman John Herman was 18 year old when he enlisted on February 11, 1864 into the 23rd Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He was transferred to Company G on July 9, 1864. He was wounded on September 19, 1864 at Opequan, Virginia. He was mustered out of service on July 26, 1865 at Cumberland, Maryland.
