Joseph S. Harper

Joseph S. Harper was commissioned a Captain at Cassopolis, Michigan on September 26, 1861, at the age of 55, of Company A, 12th Michigan Volunteer Infantry. He resigned his commission on May 7, 1862 due to disability. Captain Harper died in 1894 and is buried in Cassopolis, Michigan. He was the great great great grand father of Keith Graham Harrison and great great great great grandfather of Nathan Lewis Harrison, both of Curtenius Guard Camp #17, Michigan Department, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and the Michigan Commandery of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States.
