George Elms

George Elms enlisted and was mustered on November 23, 1862 as a Blacksmith into Company C, 18th Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry. He was discharged on July 10, 1865. He is buried in Green Mount Cemetery, Waynesburg, Green County, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic Burnside Post #76, St. George, West Virginia.

The photograph was passed from George Elms [1829-1890] and his wife, Sarah Ann (Jones) Elms [1832-1910], to their son William Alfred Elms [1869-1959] and his wife, Elizabeth Alice Gordon [1871-1925], to their son, George Gordon Elms [1897-1988] to his daughter Elizabeth Jane (Elms) Larsen to her daughter Kristin (Larsen) Fischer who owned and shared the photographs with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Photo Archives Project in 2005.
