Albert C. Lambert
Albert Collins Lambert was born on May 28, 1905 in Trenton, New Jersey. He was a life-long resident of the area.
His grandfather, William, enlisted in Co. L, 81st Pennsylvania Infantry and later was with Co. F, 51st Pennsylvania Infantry. He was a Comrade in the Bayard Post No. 8, Trenton.
Albert was a member of the Fred V. Dayton Camp No. 5, Trenton. He was elected Department Commander in 1933. He was elected Senior Vice Commander-in-Chief in 1939. In 1948, Secretary-Treasurer Hammer died and Brother Lambert took over the job and served for the 15 years. He was appointed National Counselor for seven terms (1968-1974). In the 1995 National Proceedings, he was called “a 'jack of all trades' for the SUVCW”.
He was President and Operator of Credit Service, Inc.
He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. George Church and the Trenton Civitan Club.
He married Edna Simpson and they had a son and a daughter. Sister Lambert was National President of the Auxiliary to the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War in 1947. His son, Albert W., was elected as New Jersey's Department Commander in 1959 and held National Officer positions.
Brother Lambert died on September 3, 1975 in Titusville, New Jersey and is buried at Colonial Memorial Park Cemetery in Trenton. A Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War service was conducted at his wake.
