William Edgar Bundy was the son of William Sanford Bundy who served in Company I, 18th Ohio Volunteer Infantry and later in Company G, 7th Ohio Voluteer Cavalry. He was wounded at the Battle of Bean Station, Tennessee and was mustered out of service in 1864 and died of his injuries in 1867. His son, William Edgar was born in 1866.

William Edgar Bundy graduated from the Cincinnati Law School and was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1886. In 1886, he organized William S. Bundy Camp #105 at Wellston, Ohio. He was elected its first Commander and he attended every Ohio Division (Department) Encampment from 1886 to 1903. He served as a delegate to the National Encampment for every Encampment from 1887 to 1901. He was elected to the Council-in-Chief in 1888. He served as Ohio Division Commander in 1889. He was elected by acclamation as Commander-in-Chief at the 1893 National Encampment, serving in 1894.

In 1893, Camp #75 of Cincinnati consolated with the Sanford Bundy Camp #105 to become Sanford Bundy Camp #75. Commander-in-Chief Bundy retained his duties as Camp Treasurer during his term as Commander-in-Chief showing the membership that there was no such thing as a subordinate office. He also served as a Colonel in the Ohio National Guard and a United States Attorney in 1902. He died in 1903.
