William J. Stoop

William J. Stoop was a member of the Mississippi Squadron and served on board the U.S.S. Tyler and U.S.S. Red Rover from August 1862 to August 1863. He enlisted at Cincinnati, Ohio and was honorably discharged at Cairo, Illinois. He was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic (post unknown) and is buried in Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with his wife, Mary.
