William Smedley
William Smedley William Smedley was born in 1820. In 1862, he was resident of Salem, Indiana. On August 20, 1862, he enlisted and was mustered as a Private into Company E, Indiana 5th Regiment Volunteer Cavalry. He died as a Prisoner of War of Scorbutus (Scurvy) on June 20, 1864 at Andersonville, Georgia. He is buried (Grave #2218) at Andersonville National Cemetery, Andersonville, Georgia.
