Francis and Sheldon Wight
Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War
Photos from the PastFrancis Wight and Sheldon Wight Sheldon Wight enlisted as a Private in Jackson, Michigan on December 22, 1863 at the age of 16, in Company F, 6th Michigan Volunteer Cavalry. He was transferred to Company K, 1st Michigan Volunteer Cavalry on November 17, 1865. He was honorably discharged on June 30, 1866. He died in 1919.
Francis Wight (note his GAR badge in photograph) enlisted as a Private at Jackson, Michigan on December 22, 1863 at the age of 18, in Company F, 6th Volunteer Michigan Cavalry. He was transferred to Company A of the 9th Regiment Reserve Corps. He was honorably discharged on November 16, 1865. Francis and Sheldon Wight were great great great grand uncles of Nathan Lewis Harrison, Curtenius Guard Camp #17, Michigan Department, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and the Michigan Commandery of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States.
