Nixon Stewart

Nixon Stewart of Adamsville, Ohio served twice--first as a Private in Company E, 97th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Army of the Cumberland. He first saw action in the Battle of Perrysburg, Kentucky. Following that he was medically discharged with heart problems.

He then was called up as a Sergeant in Comapny E, 190th Ohio Volunteer Infantry (Militia, 100-days), doing escort duty for wagon trains in Virginia, and duty at Harper's Ferry. He later became a Captain in the Ohio National Guard.
