Meshech Walker

Meshech Walker, was a resident of Racine, Ohio when he enlisted in the Company E, 9th Regiment West Virginia Volunteer Infantry on January 9, 1862. At the time of his enlistment, he was noted as being 5' 11" tall; having dark complexion, grey eyes, and brown hair; and was by occupation a blacksmith. While serving in the 9th West Virginia, he was injured while shoeing a horse and was discharged March 3, 1864. On August 17, 1864, he enlisted as a private in Company F, 174th Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He was mustered out of service at Charlotte, North Carolina on June 28, 1865. He died on May 17, 1882 and was buried in Snowball Hill Cemetery in Syracuse, Ohio.
