John Decher

John Decher was born in Hessen, Darmstadt, Germany, May 20, 1835. He enlisted September 13, 1861 into the 17th Missouri Volunteers and later served in the Veterans Reserve Corps as a Guard at Elmira Prisoner of War Camp in New York.
