John Moffitt

John Moffitt John Moffitt was born in 1842. He enlisted August 2, 1861 as a private in "Birney's Zouaves" 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers, Company F. He was wounded at the Battle of Fair Oaks, Virginia, May 31, 1862 and was honorably discharged September 8, 1864. He died in 1905 and was buried in Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was a member of Col. John W. Patterson Grand Army of the Republic Post #151 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Photograph and information submitted by Tammy Carlson.
