Hannibal Thompson

Hannibal Thompson was born on July 6, 1823 in Turner, Androscoggin, Maine. He died on August 14, 1899 in Auburn, Maine. Hannibal served as a Corporal during the Civil War, serving in Company L, 2nd Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteer Heavy Artillery. For his service, and because he contracted malaria and rheumatism while in the war, he received a pension in the amount of $14.00 per month from July 29, 1896 until his death. Hannibal had two other brothers who served in the Civil War, James Archibald Thompson and Reverend Zenas Thompson.
