George Edward Clayton

George Edward Clayton was born August 28,1834 in Clark County, Missouri. On April 16, 1862, he enlisted and was mustered into Company D, 11th Regiment Ohio Volunteer Cavalry. He served with distinction and was mustered out, receiving an honorable discharge, on April 1, 1865. Following the Civil War, he entered largely into agricultural pursuits and practiced law in Brown and Nemaha Counties, Kansas. He died March 22, 1915 in Guthrie, Logan County, Oklahoma.
