Chauncey M. Clark

Chauncey M Clark enlisted at age 36 on October 8, 1861 at Russell, New York as a 1st Lieutenant. He was mustered on November 2, 1861 and commissioned as such into Company L, 9th Regiment New York Volunteer Cavalry. He was promoted to Captain on November 1, 1862. He was in command at the 9th Picket at Oxhill, Battle of Chantilly and had the sad duty to accept the body of general Phillip Kearny. He resigned on April 28, 1863.
