Captain Alberto Campbell, Corporal Charles D. Campbell, and Sergeant John A. Crouser/Crowser

Captain Alberto Campbell, his brother, Corporal Charles D. Campbell, and his brother-in-law, Sergeant John A. Crouser/Crowser all served in Company A, 2nd West Virginia Cavalry Regiment from 1861-1865. The Campbells were born in Pennsylvania and moved to Racine, Ohio where they joined the 2nd West Virginia Cavalry. John Crouser/Crowser was born in Racine, Ohio. The 2nd West Virginia Cavalry was mostly made up of volunteers from Meigs County and several other counties from southern Ohio. First Lieutenent Lewis E. Campbell, and two more Crowser brothers also served in the 2nd West Virginia Cavalry but no photographs are available. Alberto Campbell moved to Washington DC along with his brother, Charles, in 1865 after the war. Also included is a photograph of Alberto Campbell's Grand Army of the Republic ribbon from Farragut Post #10 in Washington DC.
