George Hyde Huish

George Hyde Huish, born July 8, 1839, served in the 1st West Virginia Volunteer Infantry (3 months service) Company D. That regiment only served from May to August of 1861. Company D mustered in in Steubenville, Ohio, May 15, 1861, and mustered out in Wheeling the August 28, 1861. George Huish moved to Pittsburgh by 1863 where he was married. He is wearing a his Grand Army of the Republic Post uniform (note GAR badge). On his cap there is a wreath with the number 157 or 187.
