General Order 006 2005-2006


  1. Brothers, it is with deepest sympathy and a heavy heart that I report the death of Past Commander-in-Chief Donald Leroy Roberts. PCinC Roberts passed away on 12 October 2005.
  2. Brother Roberts was Commander-in-Chief from 1985 to 1986 and hailed from the Department of New York. He claimed his eligibility through his maternal grandfather, Byron Cronk of Company B, 121 st New York Cavalry. PCinC Roberts was very active in the SUVCW at all levels of the Order. He also shared equal commitments to his Church, the Grange and Cub Scouts.
  3. A memorial service will be held on Monday, 17 October 2005 , at the Candor Funeral Parlor, 137 Main Street , Candor , New York . Viewing hours are 5 pm to 7 pm on Monday prior to the 7 pm service. Brothers wishing to make donations in memory of PCinC Roberts should send them to the MARCH OF DIMES. Please remember PCinC Roberts’ family in your thoughts and prayers during their hour of need.
  4. It is ordered that the National Web site, the Charters of all Departments and Camps and membership badges be draped in black for a period 30 days from the date of this General Order.
