Note: A major flood
destroyed all records in the Kinney County courthouse on June 14, 1899. It is likely that GAR records were
destroyed in this event. |

Uncertain. Last reported
in 1967 by Dayton Baylor, MJ, Director of Journalism and Publicity |
"A box full of the records, along with miscellaneous
publications of the National and State headquarters, several letters, and
even a couple of medals worn by members of the GAR." The collection was discovered in a box, and
almost every item in it had been shreaded or torn. The contents of the collection were
described by Dayton Kelley (Mary Hardin-Baylor College) in an article in the
Waco Tribune-Herald, 29 Jan. 1967, pg. 8C. |
