William L. Tanner

William L. Tanner was born May 3, 1844. He enlisted August 11, 1862 and was mustered September 30, 1862 as a Private into Company B, 1st Regiment Connecticut Volunteer Cavalry. His residence at the time of his enlistment was Meriden, Connecticut. On October 17, 1864 he was taken prisoner at Cedar Run Church, Virginia and spent a period of time in Libby Prison in Virginia. He was discharged on June 3, 1865. William L. Tanner died on December 9, 1918 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
