Loumous Berry

Loumous Berry, of Brownville Maine, enlisted on August 15, 1861 as a Corporal into Company A, 6th Regiment Maine Volunteer Infantry (Brownville Rifles). He was 22 at the time. During the war, he was wounded five times. He mustered out of service on August 15, 1864 in Portland, Maine. Following the war, Mr. Berry and his family moved to Princeton, Minnesota.

The following is from an October 2, 1890 Princeton, Minnesota newspaper (Princeton Union) account regarding the attendance of Mr. Berry and wife, Elizabeth, to a Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) 24th National Encampment in Boston, Massachusetts (August 13 - 14, 1890):
