John Hand

John Hand was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. By the time the Civil War started, he was a resident of Oneida, Illinois. On August 20, 1861 he enlisted and was mustered as a Private into Company C, 42nd Regiment Illinois Volunteer Infantry. He was mustered out of service on December 17, 1862. He died on September 24, 1917 in Greenfield, Adair County, Iowa.
