John Fowler served with Company E, 130th Regiment Illinois Volunteer Infantry, then with Company A, 130th Revived Illinois Infantry Regiment. He was mustered out on August 14, 1865. The picture was taken around 1918, when he was about 80 years old. In the picture are two of his daughters, Anne Fowler and Edna Mae Fowler. It was taken at their home in Texas County, Missouri. Edna Mae was his youngest daughter and is still living (in 2002) at the age of 92. Photograph and information submitted by John Fowler's great granddaughter, Paula Schuler.
