Joseph W. Myers

Joseph W. Myers was born in Hamilton, Ohio, August 26, 1843. He served with Company D, 35th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. His postwar occupations included involvement in broom manufacturing in Indianapolis, serving as the Captain of the Hamilton, Ohio Fire Department, 1869-1871; City Street Commissioner, 1875; and Police Captain 1879-1881 and working at Margfdant manufacturing in Bentel, Ohio. He served as Financial Secretary on the Hamilton, Ohio Committee (1901) for the construction of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in that city. Photograph and information provided by T.
