Charles Edward. Grant

Charles Edward Grant enlisted on September 22, 1861 at Boston, Massachusetts as a Private and was mustered into Company K, 24th Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry on October 10, 1861. On May 23, 1863, he was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant in Company B, 55th Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry. On June 7, 1863, he was promoted to Captain and on March 13, 1865, he was promoted to Major by Brevet. He was Mustered Out of service on August 29, 1865 at Charleston, South Carolina. Following the war, he became a member of the George H. Ward Post #10 of the Grand Army of the Republic in Worchester, Massachusetts. He died December 30, 1927.
