Lorenzo Dow Cornell

Lorenzo Dow Cornell was born July 21, 1828 in Howard, Steuben County, New York. He is the son of Amos Cornell. Lorenzo enlisted on March 4, 1864 as a Private in Company I, 14th Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry. During his service, he was promoted to Corporal. He was injured while performing Cavalry drills. He was discharged on February 18, 1865.

Lorenzo was the husband of Sclarnia Terry Cornell. They were married on November 14, 1849. They had six children: Loemma "Emma" Lovisa, Louisa Jeanette, Chester Foridice, Orlando Fernando, Curtis Freemont, and Wallace Gardner Cornell.

Lorenzo Dow Cornell died February 11, 1917 in Harmony, Chautauqua County, New York and is buried in Grant Cemetery in Niobe, Chautauqua County, New York. Photograph and information submitted by Lorenzo Dow Cornell's Great Great Great Grandson, Carlson Craft .
