Julius Marshall Swain

A residence of Roxbury, Massachusetts and a 26-year old cashier, Julius Marshall enlisted on August 13, 1862 as a 2nd Lieutenant. On August 20, 1862, he was commissioned into Company B, 39th Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry. He was discharged for promotion and was commissioned into the US Army Signal Corps on March 3, 1863. He was promoted by brevet to Captain on March 13, 1865. He resigned on June 14, 1865.
