John Napoleon Bonaparte Baker

John Napoleon Bonaparte Baker enlisted at Antrim, Michigan on August 31, 1863 into Company H, 10th Michigan Volunteer Cavalry as a Corporal. He was 27 years old. During the war, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. He was mustered out of service at Memphis, Tennessee on November 11, 1865.

John's younger brother, Francis M. Baker, also enlisted in Company H on the same date (August 31, 1863), but as a Private. He did not survive the war. He died of disease on April 25, 1864 and is buried at Knoxville, Tennessee.
