Electus Oakes, Jr

Electus Oakes, Jr., an 18 year old resident of Hamden, Maine, enlisted as a Private on February 8, 1865 into Company E of the 12th Regiment Maine Volunteer Infantry. He was mustered out of service on April 18, 1866. His father, Electus Oakes (age 43), also enlisted into Company E, 12th Regiment Maine Volunteer Infantry as a Private. He enlisted and mustered out on the same dates as his son.
