Dayton Rike

Dayton Rike, of German lineage, was born 1836 in Montgomery County, Ohio. He was later a resident of Shelby County, Ohio. In 1858, he married Sarah J. Gilfillen. He served as a Private in Company K, 57th Ohio Volunteer Infantry from February 1862 to August 1865.

William E. Rike, a brother to the above, was born in 1844 in Montgomery County, Ohio. He also was later a resident of Shelby County, Ohio. In 1869, he married Charlotte Gilfillen (sister of Sarah). He served as a Private in Company E, 185th Ohio Volunteer Infantry from February 1864 to September 1865.
