Charles M Tyrrell

 

Charles M Tyrrell was born on April 24, 1839, in East Hebron, Washington County, New York. He married Sophronia Emeline Perry and had one son before the war and two sons after. He enlisted on May 7, 1861, as a Private with Company E, 22nd Regiment of New York State Volunteers (a/ka the 2nd Northern New York Regiment). Charles was wounded in the neck at the Battle of Bull Run and taken prisoner for eight days. He continued to serve until he was mustered out with his company on June 19, 1863, in Albany, New York. Charles M Tyrrell died on June 12, 1912, and was buried in Chester Rural Cemetery in Warren County, New York.
