Byron W. Joslin

Byron W. Joslin served with Company K, 134th Ohio Volunteer Infantry from May 6, 1864 to August 31, 1864 (100 days enlistment). He was in a skirmish at Port Walthall and picket duty at Richmond, Virginia. He was the last member of Shelby County, Ohio, Neal Post Number 6, Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) and was also the Ohio Department Commander. He attended the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg in 1938. He died December 26, 1943 at age 98. His brother, Clay Joslin, of Company B, 20th Ohio Volunteer Infantry was among the 22 charter members of the Shelby County, Ohio, Neal GAR Post No. 62, which was organized April, 1871 in Sidney, Shelby County, Ohio.
