Benjamin, George, Harvey and Thomas B. Lee

Benjamin Franklin Lee was born December 17, 1844 in Orange County, Indiana and died August 28, 1921 in Orchardville, Wayne County, Illinois. Benjamin was a member of the 111th Illinois Infantry, Company C during the Civil War. Benjamin was mustered in September 18, 1862 and mustered out June 6, 1865. He was a farmer all of his life.

George Mason Lee was born January 31, 1838 in Orange County, Indiana and died March 6, 1911 in Orchardville, Wayne County, Illinois. George was a member of the 48th Illoniois Infantry, Company I along with his brothers, Harvey and Thomas Lee. George was mustered in on September 15, 1861 and discharged August 15, 1865. He was also a farmer all of his life.

Harvey Lee was born in 1833 in Orange County, Indiana. Harvey also was a member of the 48th Illinois Infantry, Company I. He was mustered in on September 15, 1861 and discharged due to disability on September 16, 1862. His injury that led to his discharge is unknown, however, the photograph below shows that he a deformed left hand that may have been the injury that led to his discharge.

Thomas B. Lee was a member of the 48th Illinois Infantry, Company I. Thomas was born in 1842 in Orange County, Indiana and in 1855 his family moved and settled land in Brushcreek (later changed to Orchardville), Wayne County, Illinois where they where farmers. Thomas was mustered in on September 15, 1861 and die in the battle of Shiloh, Tennessee on April 7, 1862. Thomas is buried in Shiloh National Cemetery (Grave Memorial# 9307734).
