C M Welch and Andrews Post No. 15

Photos from the Past

C.M. Welch and
Andrews Post #15 GAR, Massachusetts

The man in the right photograph is C.M. Welch. Welch was a member of the 2nd and 20th Maine, but was transferred to gun boat service before the Battle of Gettysburg. What is interesting is the clam badge on his uniform. Welch is also seen in the photograph on the left (group of 4) that gives a good representation of the different GAR uniforms. Photographs are from SUVCW Colonel Louis R. Francine Camp #7, New Jersey Department member, David Hann.
