 Comrade John C. Shotts, Past Commander of
the Department of New York, enlisted on
April 16, 1861 in Company A, 17th NY Infantry
and was discharged at New York City on
June 2, 1863.

He died at his home in Yonkers, NY, on
August 26, 1919, aged 75 years.
