George C. Eldridge, Past Department
Commander of New York, died March 26, 1939
in Dumont, N.J., at age 94.

He was the last survivor of the First Lincoln

Cavalry, ( Co. F, 1st N.Y. Cav.) which he joined
at the outbreak of the Civil War at the age of 17.

He participated in 163 engagements. He enlisted
October 21, 1861 and was discharged July 6,
1865.
