Past Department Commander Joseph Bauer
died October 12, 1938 at age 93.

He enlisted in Rochester in 1861 and served until

1865 . He served as a Private in Co. K, 8th N.Y.
Cavalry and later transferred to the 5th
Independent Battery, New York Light Artillery.

He served as officer of the day at several

National Encampments.
