Past Dept. Commander Edward J. Atkinson died the third day of February 1920, at his home in Yonkers, New York. Comrade Atkinson was born in New York City seventy-eight years ago and retained his residence in that municipality until his recent retirement from business activities. In

| For over forty years he was a member of the
Grand Army of the Republic and served the Organization in various capacities. For more than thirty years, and at time of his decease, he held the position of Secretary to the Memorial and Executive Committee of the Grand Army of the Republic in New York City. |
