Organized in 1984 by Robert Gregory,
the Camp's permanent charter is dated April 13, 1990.
Stewart-Hope Camp's predecessor was the John R. Stewart Camp 126
which was formed in 1911 and became inactive in 1957.
John Stewart was a young soldier from the Oneida area
who died of disease at Andersonville Prison.
Marshall B. Hope of Pen Yan served in the 11th Regiment, PAVI.
His grandson, also named Marshall Hope, served as Dept. Commander
and was an active local historian and author.
Meetings are held twice per year, Spring & Fall.
