D.G. Caywood Camp #146 Civil War Education Fund


On January 5, 1999 the membership of D.G. Caywood Camp #146, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, voted to establish a special fund to support the camp's quarterly roundtable discussions and other educational activities.

The Fund was formed as a 501(c)(3) organization, meaning that donations to the Fund are tax deductible.

Roundtable discussions are free and open to public.  Attendees can participate, or just sit back and take it all in.

Should the Confederate Battleflag be Banned from Public Display, and Other Controversial Topics of Modern Civil War Studies, Part II (to be held on February 1, 2000 at 7:00pm, at the Trumansburg Fire Hall on Route 96 in Trumansburg, New York)

The Influence of Artillery on the Civil War with Guest Speaker R.L. Murray, Author (held on November 9, 1999 at 7:00pm at the Waterloo VFW at 29 W Elisha St in Waterloo, New York)

Abraham Lincoln (held November 10, 1998 at the Ovid, New York, VFW)

Civil War and GAR "Show & Tell" (held August 4, 1998 at the Lyons, New York, Courthouse)

The 1862 Peninsula Campaign (held May 5, 1998 at the Oliver House Museum in Penn Yan, New York)

The Civil War in Literature and the Movies (held February 3, 1998 at the Geneva Historical Society in Geneva, New York)

1865 - The Long Road Home (held November 11, 1997 at the Memorial Day Museum in Waterloo, New York)

1864 - If It Takes All Summer! (held August 5, 1997 at the Ontario County Historical Society in Canandaigua, New York)
