Ancestor of Great Grandson Brian Witz (pictured) of Lincoln Camp #6

He died on 14 October 1874 of influenza, after serving in the 9th NY at
Antietam and Fredericksburg. Prior to those battles, he was wounded at
the Battle of South Mills (Camden), NC in April of 1862.

Company H and is buried at the Littleneck Cemetery in East Providence, Rhode
