The following photograph is of President Harry S. Truman taken at the Lincoln Memorial on February 12, 1948 as part of the annual MOLLUS commemorative ceremony. Standing left to right are Recorder-in-Chief of MOLLUS W. Elkins Reed, Major General Harry Vaughn, Admiral Ernest King, President Harry S. Truman, First Lady Bess Truman, and Major General Ulysses S. Grant, III. Grant continuing the tradition was also a long time member of MOLLUS who later serve as Commander-in-Chief of MOLLUS from 1957 to 1961. The annual ceremony, which takes place on the birthday of Abraham Lincoln, February 12th, commemorates the life and contributions of our 16th President to our county.
