Job Description for Senior Vice Commander in Chief

Purpose

 

The purpose of the office of Senior Vice Commander-in-Chief (SVC-in-C) is to promote the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War both within and outside the Order.

National Regulations, Chapter III, Atricle VII, Section 2.

The Senior Vice Commander-in-Chief shall respectively perform the duties of the
Commander-in-Chief in case of a vacancy or inability of the senior officer to act, and shall
perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the Constitution and Regulations of the Order
and the orders of the Commander-in-Chief.
The Senior Vice Commander-in-Chief shall be responsible for promoting programs
promulgated by the order of the Commander-in-Chief. He shall also serve as chairman of the
National Committee on Program and Policy.
