1. It is with great honor that I write this General Order in recognition of the faithful and dedicated service of Past Commander-In-Chief, Richard Partington. PCNC Partington is celebrating his 75th anniversary as a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, beginning his membership in 1934.


2. In 1939, he attended his first National Encampment in Pittsburg, PA. He has attended the National Encampments of the Grand Army of the Republic and has since written a book on his recollections of the GAR.


3. PCNC Partington served as Commander of the Department of Pennsylvania from 1962 to 1963 and was elected Commander-in-Chief in 1987.


4. On behalf of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, I thank PCNC Partington for his many contributions to the Order and his good counsel to many of our members.


5. Thank you PCNC Partington.
