LINCOLN BIRTH BICENTENNIAL COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL
The coming National Encampment of the Allied Orders of the G.A.R. will coincide with the commemoration of the bicentennial
of Abraham Lincoln’s birth. The Department of Kentucky, S.U.V.C.W. has ordered the striking of a numbered, limited
edition, commemorative medal to mark this historic occasion.

LIMITED EDITION, SIGNED AND NUMBERED LINCOLN PRINT
The coming National Encampment of the Allied Orders of the G.A.R. will coincide with the commemoration of the bicentennial
of Abraham Lincoln’s birth. The Department of Kentucky, S.U.V.C.W. has ordered the printing of a signed, numbered,
limited edition, commemorative print to mark this historic occasion.
Drawn by renowned artist and Brother Dan Colon, each will be printed on 100% acid free, 80# cover weight, antique white
paper. This finely detailed and thought provoking portrait of Lincoln captures the essence of a man, born of humble means,
worn by years of war, who nobly held this Nation together. This will become an instant collectors item.

TWO LINCOLNS FOR TWO LINCOLNS
Fort Duffield Camp #1 will offer 2 Lincolns For 2 Lincolns. We’ve paired a numbered (001), signed, matted and framed Lincoln portrait with a limited-edition, numbered (001) Lincoln Birth Bicentennial Medal for a prize drawing. A $10.00 chance (2 Lincolns) and in commemoration of Lincoln’s 200th birthday, only 200 chances will be sold, and only at the Encampment. Drawing will be held at the Allied Orders Banquet Saturday evening.
PRE-REGISTRATION
Pre-register at $7 per Brother, using the form provided. The fee helps defray the cost of the 2009 Encampment, Friday evening’s Campfire program with entertainment and Saturday evening’s hospitality room(s). Registration after July 29th, 2009 will be $10.
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES
Thursday, Aug. 13th – 12 Noon to 5:00 PM: In celebration of the bicentennial of Lincoln’s birth, we will be hosting a Tour to the Lincoln Birthplace
National Historic Shrine and the newly renovated Lincoln Museum in Hodgenville, KY. The tour will
leave the hotel at 12:00 pm and return by 5:00 pm.
Seating is limited to the first 110 people.
Friday, Aug. 14th – 7:00 PM: Annual Campfire and Courtesy Hour – Speeches, greetings and entertainment, followed by friendly roasts, skits and gifts to honor the Commander-in-Chief and Auxiliary National President.
Saturday, Aug 15th - 7:00 AM : Sons of Veterans Reserve Breakfast— Hosted by the Commanding General, the breakfast buffet is open to all Brothers. The Sons of Veterans Reserve (SVR) breakfast will take place in the Louisville Crown Plaza Hotel at the 128th National Encampment of the SUVCW in Louisville, Kentucky. The cost of the breakfast will be $15.00 per person, ADVANCE RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENT REQUIRED, NO AT THE DOOR SALES WILL BE MADE, reservations must be received before 01 August 2009. For purposes of making final arrangements with the catering service at the Louisville Crown Plaza Hotel, it is critically important that reservations from those planning to attend be secured as soon as possible. Please let Colonel Donald E. Darby, Adjutant General, Sons of Veterans Reserve know of your planned attendance by using the SVR Breakfast Form. Uniforms are encouraged and wives, children and friends are welcome to attend.
Saturday, Aug 15th – 6:00 PM : Allied Orders Banquet— Formal Evening meal and entertainment. Two entrée choices available.
