Troubleshooting Your Missing Banner

When an SUVCW member has not received a Banner "in quite a while," most of the time it's the result of two circumstances:

1.) The member has moved and he has either not notified his Camp Secretary or his Camp Secretary has been notified and the secretary has not forwarded the information via a Form 30 to higher headquarters; or

2.) The member was dropped by his Camp for non-payment of dues, then subsequently paid his dues, was reinstated by his Camp, but his Camp Secretary did not forward the reinstatement information via a Form 30 to higher headquarters.

 

In each case, the member should first check with his Camp Secretary to ensure the secretary has the correct address and status for the member AND has reported same to his Department Secretary. 

Once the member's address and status is verified as correct at the Camp and Department levels, the member may contact the Executive Director at execdir@suvcw.org

The Executive Director maintains the National Membership List.  This list, which is updated monthly, is used to determine who and where the Banner is mailed to each time it's published.  The Executive Director will be able to verify the member's address of record and his status.  Once this is done, the member will begin receiving the Banner again.

If the member's address of record is wrong, the Banner, which is mailed by the standard non profit rate, will not be forwarded, as it would if it was mailed by first class.

Rarely, is the U.S. Post Office at fault.  However, there are times when mail is lost.  If you suspect this, contact your local post office. 

It should be noted that because the Banner is mailed by the standard non profit rate, it will not arrive in as timely a manner as it would if it was mailed by first class.  There will be variations in arrival times by members of the same Department, members of the same Camp and members living in the same town.

If you are a member, who has not received a Banner in 4-5 months, start troubleshooting immediately.
