Phyllis is a third generation member of the Ladies of the G.A.R. Her grandmother, Anna May Baker joined in 1923 and her mother, Sarah Louise Moore, in 1937. Phyllis joined on June 5, 1961. Her eligibility is from her Great Grandfather Alfred Baker, private Co. A, 141st Regiment, Illinois Infantry Volunteers. He enlisted May 20, 1864 and was discharged on October 10, 1864. She also has eligibility from her great, great grandfather, William A. Casler, Co. C, 34th Regiment, New York Infantry. He enlisted in October 1861 and was mustered out June 1863.
